This is a tradition that many people know a lot of anticipation for, and based on what we’ve seen in the official trailer already, things re going to be intense. This is an episode that will be a foundation for everything else that happens in the crossover and while there are going to be a lot of stories that bleed over into the other shows, there will be a few things that are specific to the Chicago crew as well. It is that balancing act that helps to make this show as strong as it is in the first place, and it ensures that you keep watching on a weekly basis as opposed to just here and there. These little nuances make the general growth of the story matter.

Could this be an outstanding crossover? In a lot of ways, the jury is still out … but we know it’s poised to be the most ambitious one that the series has ever done.
