Chicago PD (Upton & Halstead) vs. NCIS (Bishop & Torres) – ‘Shiptober poll

'Shiptober

Welcome to ‘Shiptober 2019! Throughout the month of October, CarterMatt will be bringing you our annual tournament featuring some of best ‘ships in all of TV. What is a ‘ship? It is comprised of characters you want to see together romantically. Maybe they’re already together, or maybe they’ve never been together. It doesn’t matter. ‘Shipping is one of the most popular parts of any TV fandom, it’s super fun and this tournament is a celebration of that.

Within this article, we’ve got two more ‘ships to spotlight, and these are each from shows in Chicago PD and NCIS that have been on the air for a long time. Yet, what’s interesting is that these ‘ships in Upton & Halstead and Bishop & Torres are still fairly recent — at least within the larger context of the shows’ overall run. It seems like both duos could end up together, but nothing is certain as of yet and it could be a little while before we know for sure.

Voting Rules – Voting will be underway in the poll below from now until Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. Vote however often you’d like! (For more voting instructions or technical questions, check out the bottom of this article for answers.)

Be sure that you subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube — there are frequent video discussions there for many of the shows discussed in this tournament!

Upton & Halstead, Chicago PD (#4 seed) – What we’ve got here in Upstead is a pair who have already established a deep, intense friendship with one another. It’s clear that they care for each other deeply and beyond that, they would do anything to help the other in the field. There is a great foundation ehre for a possible relationship, and we’ve heard all sorts of quotes already suggesting that there is a lot that will be explored between the two coming up in season 7.

Bishop & Torres, NCIS (#5 seed) – Like with Upstead, there are definitely some seeds planted at the moment that we’ll see Ellick get together at some point over the next couple of years. They like each other — heck, even Ziva is aware of it and she hasn’t been around the two of them very long! This is a classic case of two people who have some deep feelings for each other, but also have some insecurities about whether or not said feelings are mutual or if it would impact the job. Also, Gibbs’ rules.
