NCIS season 17: When could Cote de Pablo appear again?

So, for the time being, when could we expect Cote to be back on set? Hopefully, within a matter of weeks! At the time of her press tour for the first two episodes, Cote confirmed that she had yet to film her remaining appearances as Ziva David. The first is slated to end around the end of the year, but then the second could come around in early 2020. There’s a good chance that Cote will film both of the episodes by the end of the year, so it could be a relatively active next several weeks for her as a performer.
For now, we’d circle late November/early December as to when NCIS could show off Cote again. It would make some sense to make her next appearance the final one of the calendar year, though that could be rather complicated if you want to also make that a holiday special. Could you combine Ziva and the holiday season? Maybe, but it’d be hard to spin all of her story and her mythology through that lens.
Just know that even when Cote is not on NCIS, there are some ways that Ziva’s story could factor into the narrative. For example, Tuesday’s new “Going Mobile” will feature a lot of the cast members looking at their feelings in regards to what happened with her. It’s probably comforting to know that she is not betraying the team, but it’s still a lot to take in that this old friend is now back from the dead.
