Supergirl season 5 episode 2 spoilers: First look at Acrata!

Supergirl season 5 episode 2

Supergirl season 5 episode 2 is going to air on The CW on October 13, and we have a major new arrival during it! Julie Gonzalo is going to be playing the character of Andrea Rojas a.k.a. Acrata on the upcoming season of the show, and she could be tied in some way to one of the show’s central themes: Technology.

So who is Andrea Rojas? She is a media mogul-of-sorts, someone who is an heir apparent to a media empire in Central America. She could be finding a way in order to expand her empire, and the photo above shows her having some sort of conversation with Lena Luthor. Is Rojas going to be an adversary-of-sorts to Lena? That feels like a fair possibility.

Within the world of the comics, we know that Acrata possesses the ability to operate and transport within the world of shadow. She’s skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and there could come a time when all of this plays out in the story.

The primary question we’re left to answer at the moment is this: Are we going to be seeing Rojas as a major threat in the long-term of the series, or is she more of an entry point to some other drama? Early on in a given season of Supergirl, it can be difficult to know for certain one way or another. We do know that Leviathan is tied to a lot of the main mythology in season 5, so it’s possible that Rojas is tied to them in some way.

The premiere episode is coming up in a mere matter of days, and within that episode, you will at least have an opportunity to learn a little bit about where Kara and some of the other main characters are in the fallout of everything that happened at the end of season 4. We anticipate there being a lot of chaos, some new adversaries, and some surprises sprinkled in along the way. Our hope is that this season does share some interesting, unpredictable thoughts on the relationship between technology and humanity — in a way we don’t see coming.
