NCIS season 17 episode 2 promo: Torres and Ziva officially meet
At the start of the promo below, you can see Torres tell Bishop that he is “sizing [Ziva] up” soon after the two spend some legitimate time together. It’s funny in a way — this scene could be the first time that Bishop and Ziva also met, but there is such a natural feel to their rapport — you could make the argument that it’s almost as though the two of them have been friends for ages already, when their communication in reality has been somewhat sparse.

One of the things that intrigues us the most about Torres and Ziva spending so much time together is that they do actually have a good bit in common. The two are cut somewhat from the same cloth — they’re both used to being undercover and are very much capable in the field. The fundamental difference right now is that Ziva has so much more to be invested in — think in terms of her daughter. That’s a powerful driving force. We do think that Torres would do whatever he could for Bishop, but there’s something about a bond between a parent and child. That’s a big part of Ziva’s driving force, and that is also why she is willing to take big risks in order to ensure that she sees Tali and Tony again. That may be why she wasn’t entirely forthcoming to Gibbs and the rest of the team at first — there may be something more that is going on here with her.
Is Ziva working with a terrorist organization? One way or another, we’re sure that “Into the Light” will bring you a few answers.
