In this article, we’re going to discuss some of what Cliff Hogg had to say about his game, and any regrets he has this season.

On why he didn’t win – “I think I was a little too loyal and a little too trustworthy. I thought I could separate my real life from the gameplay; maybe I’m not as good at that as I thought.”

On if he made too many deals – “I may have made one deal too many when I was trying to tweak deals with Michie at final five. I also think that making deals is what allowed me to last as long as I did.”

What’s the first thing he is going to say to his wife and kids? – “I don’t think I’m going to say anything. I’m just going to give them giant hugs and a big ol’ smile. Then, I’m going to tell them how sorry I am that they had to go so long without me … I don’t ever want to do that again. That was incredibly difficult.”

Would he go back and evict Holly instead of Tommy? – “Hindsight being 20/20, taking a showmance wasn’t the best thing in the world. But there were a lot of reasons I was worried about Tommy. From a mental competition standpoint [I was worried], I knew he was tighter with Nicole than he was me so I was worried about that. I didn’t win, so I would like to see if it worked the other way around.”

On what surprised him about the game – “The stress of this thing … It was the stress of so much downtime between these competitions and everyone just getting paranoid. It was more stressful than I ever anticipated.”

On if he thought the best player won – “I think so. I made some threats to Michie saying that he wasn’t going to get my vote, but in the end from a competition standpoint, he got me. Strategy-wise, he did really well. I had to be objective.”

Overall, Cliff had a great run this season — he was a finalist for AFP, but maybe he could’ve won if he made some different decisions down the line.
