Chicago Med season 5 episode 2 preview: More on Marcel Crockett

As we approach Chicago Med season 5 episode 2 on NBC tonight, it’s clear that we’re entering a new era of the series. We don’t have Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling anymore, Natalie is in a bizarre love triangle and suffering from memory loss, and Maggie may be dealing with a significant health battle after her breast cancer diagnosis. Nothing is slowing down on this series, and that’s without even thinking about the infusion of new blood (medical pun intended) into the hospital.

Tonight, you got a brief tease of new character Marcel Crockett amidst everything else going on at the hospital, and he is someone who is going to play an incredibly important role over the course of the next few weeks and months to come. This is a doctor who can operate in the hybrid OR much like Connor did, but he’s also got some demons and methods of doing things that will clash with everyone else. You’ll get a good taste of who he is in this premiere, but think of it more than anything as a scratching of the surface to everything else that will be coming later:

10/02/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : Dr. Choi and Dr. Charles have difficult decisions to make as a dying man tries to preserve his future life with a controversial scientific method. Dr. Marcel and April clash over how to handle a mysterious patient and Will questions Natalie’s capabilities. Sharon assigns a nurse to shadow Maggie, much to her dismay. TV-14 L, V

There are storylines within this episode that will be isolated in nature, and the one thing we do want more information on is simply this: What’s going to happen with Will and Natalie. Phillip seems ready to battle tooth and nail to keep his fiancee … who really isn’t even actually engaged to him. He’s just convinced her that she is and she doesn’t remember saying otherwise.
