The Resident season 3 episode 2 preview: Meet Lamar Broome, Adaku Eze

Next week, The Resident season 3 episode 2 will introduce you to some important characters in Lamar Broome and also Adaku Eze. So what will they bring to the story? Think in terms of some emotional upheaval, as each one of them could come bearing big updates as to the personal lives of certain characters.

Want as little more of a sense as to why? Below, CarterMatt has The Resident season 3 episode 2 synopsis — a great source of everything that is coming up. That’s at least in terms of what Adaku is bringing to the table:

Cain tries to recruit Bell and Kit to join him on a dangerous surgery, with the intent of garnering publicity for the hospital. Meanwhile, the Raptor finds himself with an emotional attachment to a patient whose life is put in his hands and Mina’s friend, Adaku (guest star Erinn Westbrook), arrives at the hospital with shocking news. Also, Devon rotates out of the ER and Nic plans a surprise for Conrad in the all-new “Flesh of My Flesh” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Tuesday, Oct. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-302) (TV-14 L, V)

So who is Lamar? He is AJ’s father, and that could be the patient discussed in the aforementioned synopsis. If there’s one constant that is at the forefront of The Resident, it’s difficult fathers. We’ve seen the emotional rift with Conrad and his father and, to go along with that, we’ve also seen the storyline with Nic and her own dad last year. This storyline continues the trend, but also should give us a good bit more evidence as to why The Raptor is the way that he is. He’s incredibly confident, but what’s the reason for that? Is he trying to compensate for something?

As for Mina’s friend, Adaku is someone who may have something to do with either the two’s shared past, or with her own present condition. Maybe Adaku turns up with bad news about a health crisis, and she is looking for guidance! (Yet, if that is the case, isn’t it a little bit repetitive to bring out this story when it is fundamentally so similar to AJ’s? Just a thought.)
