The Good Doctor season 3 episode 3 spoilers: A Claire Browne showcase

For everyone out there wondering, The Good Doctor season 3 episode 3 is looking to be a big Claire Browne showcase. How do we know that? Well, it’s all in a name, really. This episode is entitled “Claire,” and it’s going to serve as an opportunity to spend a little bit more time with this character. We’ll get a chance to see both her home and professional life, and maybe get a few updates on some parts of her story that were dormant for a while.

In general, we would argue that season 3 is the perfect time to do more isolated, individual stories. You know these characters well enough now that it’s not going to feel as rushed to make something like this happen. That is especially the cast since there isn’t anywhere near as much transition moving into season 3 from season 2 as there was following season 1/moving into season 2. There are more established regulars and doctors with clearly-defined lives.

Dr. Claire Brown faces complications at home and work as she prepares to lead her first surgery. Meanwhile, a sports fishing accident challenges the rest of the staff as they look to treat the fisherman’s (Robert Sean Leonard) injuries without damaging his prize catch.

Within this episode, what we’re hoping for perhaps more than anything else is to see how Claire’s arc is going to chart out throughout the season. One thing that has been teased already is her possibly getting too involved in Shaun and Carly’s relationship. Is she doing this out of concern, or because she is harboring some feelings of her own? We think that both of these are worthy questions, though we don’t think her feelings towards Shaun have to be romantic for her to be jealous of the attention. That’s just human nature sometimes.
