The Good Doctor season 3 premiere will arrive in just two weeks! There’s so much to be excited about here, as the staff of the St. Bonaventure Hospital will be doing everything within their power to save lives.
Through the premiere, Dr. Shaun Murphy will be one of those people — but at the same time, he’s going to have some other issues that are on his mind. The premiere is going to show us what happens in the aftermath of his date with Carly, who he asked out at the end of the season 2 finale. You will see footage of this date within the premiere, but it could be interspersed between everything else that is going on. That includes a very difficult surgery, Dr. Lim getting used to her new gig, and then Morgan and Alex finding themselves at the center of saving a life versus personal glory. It’s something that does come up here or there within the world of medicine, mostly because doctors sometimes want to be heroes — often in exaggerated states.

Following what he believes was a disastrous first date with Carly, Dr. Shaun Murphy proposes a radical surgery to save a newlywed woman’s life. Meanwhile, after the new chief of surgery, Dr. Audrey Lim, announces that the residents can lead surgeries, Dr. Morgan Reznick and Dr. Alex Park compete for the chance to operate on an elderly patient who has been diagnosed with cancer.
We know that Shaun can be hard on himself at times, but we also know that Shaun may not always understand social cues that are being presented to him. While he could leave this premiere feeling extremely down over the state of things with himself and Carly, remember this as well — it may have gone better than he realized. There is still hope — there almost always is with this show!
