How so? For Conrad, he’s about to learn something about the hospital that he never would have expected previously. Meanwhile, Nic is about to learn something more about Morris Chestnut’s character of Dr. Barrett Cain. You’ll meet him in the premiere and learn that he is a highly skilled, incredibly educated surgeon. He’s the sort of doctor that you would look at and assume automatically that they are capable of anything. However, there are some skeletons in his closet, and one of his biggest flaws is his own ideology when it comes to medicine. He takes risks, but he often does so to be the hero. That’s at least the description that is out there about him right now.

When a police officer shows up to the ER with an injured criminal that he caught in the act, it’s up to the Chastain staff to keep him alive in order to save an innocent life. Nic gets roped into a surgical rotation with Cain that leaves her questioning the way he operates, and Conrad makes a shocking discovery about the hospital. Meanwhile, Bell pursues a new fiscal venture that may bring him into a whole new market in the all-new “Saints & Sinners” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Tuesday, Oct. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Within this episode, we imagine that we’re still going to be seeing some of these characters do virtually whatever they can in order to find their footing. This is not, after all, something that is altogether easy for all of them to do. They’ve gone through a lot, and will almost certainly continue to do so for a while.
