Succession season 2 episode 7 preview: Another mess for Logan Roy
We know that this is a man who has a tendency, one way or another, to not know how to get out of his own way. We’re getting another clear reminder of it now. Through this upcoming episode, you’ll see him have to deal with a punching incident gone awry, tabloid headlines, and all sorts of other issues that we’re sure that he would rather avoid if at all possible. While he’s dealing with this, there are going to be many problems elsewhere for the kids … so how much confidence should there be in some of what they’re doing? We don’t quite think “confidence” is the right word. Arrogance is something that they have a tendency to trade in a little bit more than anything else.
Within the promo HERE, you can hear Shiv say that now is the time to be worried — that’s what genuinely concerns us as someone who has felt for most of the series like she’s one of the smartest people in that room. the other members of the Roy family tend to swim a little bit more in various seas of incompetence, not quite knowing if there is going to ever be a good time for them to stick their head above water.
We are getting near the end of the season and mostly, it’s because of this that most of your concerns could rise to the surface. We don’t think that any major character will be gone from Succession, as it’s much more exciting to have them around as much as humanly possible. Can you imagine this show without Logan? The larger question, though, is how much the paradigm could shift in the early-renewed season 3. That’s where we could say that some big swings could be coming up.
