Outlander notes: Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish at Loch Ness!

Outlander season 4

For the second straight weekend, Outlander star Sam Heughan has made the most of a few openings in his schedule. After all, he is working once more with Graham McTavish for a new installment of Clan Lands!

What is Clan Lands? It was originally announced as a podcast featuring Graham and Sam talking about Scottish history and culture, but it’s looking more and more like there is a video component judging from the terminology used around it. Take, for example, the video below from Sam’s Instagram, where the two make it clear that they can’t wait for people to “see” the finished product.

This weekend, the two men were in Loch Ness, one of the most well-known locations in all of Scotland. For the most part, it’s known for its folklore and the Loch Ness Monster … but there is so much going on here beyond that. It’s located close to the city of Inverness, and is a little bit further north than where Outlander tends to shoot most of its material for season 5.

As someone who didn’t learn a bevy of information about Scotland growing up in school, we’re excited for Clan Lands just from an educational standpoint alone. It’s a chance for learning, as told through an entertaining lens of two people we know and enjoy quite well. It’s meant to be both informative and also entertaining, and it’s actually this sort of stuff that we wish was more out there in podcasting in general. We all live so insular of lives these days that we appreciate getting a chance to see and hear from outside voices.

There is no precise launch date for Clan Lands just yet; however, we remain hopeful that there will be a chance to learn more about it in the weeks and months to come.

What are you the most excited to see when it comes to Clan Lands?
