The Resident season 3 premiere spoilers: A look at ‘From the Ashes’

Come Tuesday, September 24 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, The Resident season 3 is going to premiere and we’d describe it one way: Powerful. This is going to be the sort of installment that puts the doctors and nurses through hell right away — that’s what happens when you’ve got a new medical group taking over Chastain. It’s also what happens when you’ve got the fate of someone close to Nic Nevin in jeopardy.

We imagine that through this premiere episode, we will learn as to who lives and who dies between her sister Jessie and her father Kyle. We’re sure that losing the former would be a harder blow, but that’s mostly because she and her father were never altogether close. Yet, even saying goodbye to him wouldn’t be easy — he is still her father and that means something.

The doctors of Chastain are surrounded by new rules and doctors, as Red Rock Mountain Medical takes over the hospital. Conrad finds himself in a dangerous situation when the construction for a new neurosurgery center causes a gas explosion at Chastain. Meanwhile, new hotshot neurosurgeon Barrett Cain (Morris Chestnut), is put to the test with a complicated surgery and Mina acts as a support for Nic, who is struggling with a devastating loss in the all-new “From the Ashes” Season Three premiere episode of THE RESIDENT airing Tuesday, Sept. 24 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. We know that every season of The Resident features characters who are doing everything within their power to take on the system and try to do right by their patients. The challenge this year may just be a little more severe. How else would you describe it when you have Conrad and Nic forced to take on an institution that is so big that it makes even Dr. Bell cower in fear?
