Just in case the upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event did not have enough notable names added to the roster, consider Jonah Hex.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Johnathon Schaech will be coming back as the famed comic-book character after appearing previously on episodes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. He’s been one of those characters that viewers have wanted to see more of ever since his first appearance, whether it be as the star of his own spin-off/limited series or maybe as a part of the Legends. The comic-book iteration does have a loyal following … but how will a gun-toting member of the Old West play into some of the stories coming up in the season? That’s something that the crossover hopefully has an idea for already.
Jonah Hex joins a long list of characters confirmed at this point for the crossover, one that includes everyone from Superman to Lois Lane to even an older version of Bruce Wayne, played by iconic Batman: The Animated Series voice actor Kevin Conroy. In general, it feels like there’s all sorts of good stuff to be excited about … provided of course you love everything related to both superheroes and nostalgia.
As for Jonah’s future within the Arrowverse at large, we do wonder whether or not Legends of Tomorrow is going to be looking to bring on board anyone new following the departures of Ray Palmer and Nora Darhk at some point moving into the new season. (We know that the easy theory is that Ray could die in Crisis, but that may not end up being the case depending on everything that transpires.)
The Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event is slated to kick off with some big episodes later this year, and will then move itself into the new year. Given that Hext has been mostly a character associated with Legends of Tomorrow, our general assumption is that this where you will see him featured primarily. Yet, wouldn’t it be totally random if much of the quest to stop the Anti-Monitor depended mostly on a character we’ve only seen a handful of times?
What do you want to see when it comes to the big Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event?
