Hawaii Five-0 season 10: When to expect Alex O’Loughlin-written episode
Yet, sometimes in the TV world, episodes are filmed dramatically out of order … and such is the case here. According to a new report coming in via TVLine, this episode (which was written and directed by Alex O’Loughlin) is going to be the seventh to air this fall! (It will likely air in November.) It’s unusual for an episode to be filmed this out of order, but it does make a certain degree of sense for this show. If this episode is somewhat separate from some other stories of the season, you don’t want to kick things off with it right away.

Logically, it made a heck of a lot of sense in order for this episode to be filmed right away. Just think of it like this — it would be really tough in the middle of production to go back to the mainland to do an episode. It’s so much easier to just start there and then go over to Hawaii for the rest — that way, you’re making the schedule a little easier on some of the cast.
For those wondering, Alex’s big episode is going to be a significant one for Danny, so go ahead and expect a big Scott Caan spotlight a little bit later this season. It’s always nice when the cast gets this sort of big, emotional material, since it balances out the moments that are a little more lighthearted as well as the ones that feel like an action movie. We’ll probably have some of both within the first couple of episodes of the season, which will also feature the debut of Katrina Law.
