Could Yellowstone last for a season 4, season 5 on Paramount Network?
The question that we’re left to wonder about, though, is that this is not a show that necessarily going to last forever. There are only ten episodes a season and with the dramatic nature of the story, we imagine that there’s only so long a story like this can go. We’re in a world now where television is more finite; sure, you have shows like NCIS and Law & Order: SVU, but not every show can be like that.
We know that there is a Yellowstone season 3; as a matter of fact, we know that there is already some major casting news is out there for it!
Speaking in a new interview with Deadline, Paramount Network and TV Land President of Development and Production Keith Cox explained that there are a lot of conversations already around the future of the series and what it could hold:
“There is a life span; Taylor [Sheridan] has an ending, he knows how he wants to wrap the series with a satisfying ending for the family over many seasons.”
Cox also told the publication that there have already been discussions between himself and Sheridan about how to end a fourth season — there is no confirmation that we’ll even get a fourth season, but things are moving forward in a positive direction. Remember that the ratings for season 2 were up versus season 1, and this is starting to become one of the most dominant cable shows on the air.
The report notes that there’s a chance that Yellowstone could run six or seven seasons, but a lot of that could be on the long-term creative and the desire of Sheridan, Kevin Costner, and the rest of the cast. We’ll see what the future holds!
