9-1-1 season 3 promo: The emergencies that lie ahead!
Of course, the tidal wave is still brought up within the new teaser, but it’s just one piece of the overall puzzle. The real bread and butter for 9-1-1 as a show is coming up with crazy emergencies that you would imagine to be rarities in the real world. That’s a big part of what makes them exciting. It’s not as interesting watching a show that revolves around heart attacks or cats being stuck up in trees.

The first emergency featured in the promo revolves around a young boy who is stuck in the washing machine. We don’t quite know how that happened, but we’d guess that this is something that will come out through the rescue effort. Then, there is also going to be one revolving around a getaway chase — one where a teenager is running away from the cops! Imagine Maddie’s surprise when she learns that the person who called 911 is the person who is actually escaping from the cops, and that this person isn’t even old enough to drink. Did he steal this car or something?
If you love creative story-of-the-week plots, 9-1-1 is the show for you and we imagine that the writers often get together and just pitch a lot of random ideas off of each other and see what lands. We know that there are parts of season 3 that filmed in Mexico, so maybe you’re going to see some characters head down there for a complicated mission, one that involves first responders from both countries joining forces. Isn’t this the sort of thing that often happens with the spirit of cooperation in mind?
