Ink Master season 12 episode 13 sneak peek: Wheelchair art
Within the video below, you can see the remaining artists be tasked with the challenge of designing some spokeguards for some men and women in wheelchairs. The theme for this week is finesse, and a big part of that is about making sure that you can work with your client to ensure that you give them something that they’re happy with. A lot of times when you’re dealing with finesse, it’s really about a negotiation. That’s not so much the case here. The artists are pretty set on making sure that they can give their all to making sure that these are awesome, and that their clients have something cool that they can show off throughout much of their day-to-day lives.
The big challenge here comes mostly to the judges, since we don’t think that anyone necessarily does a bad job here. A lot of it comes down to the ask. For example, Jake came up with ones that were bright and feminine, whereas Pon decided to throw a number of his client’s various asks on the spokeguards to come up with something that was really a celebration of self. Laura’s are especially cool to us, given that the dragons are going to look cool and almost in movement no matter where and when they are viewed.
This is one of those challenges where so long as the people involved are happy, everyone wins … but the judges will be giving someone the victory, and a chance as a result of that to hand out some skulls. This is one of the first times this season we’ve seen one individual have this much power, and they could even sabotage their own team if they wanted to.
