One of the great things about NCIS: Los Angeles is that no matter what, they always make the most of their local filming locations. While a lot of LA-based productions simply use parts of the city to replicate other places, this is that rare show that is quintessential LA and it can use all of these different places to its heart’s content.
For more evidence of this, all you have to do is check out the latest behind-the-scenes tease courtesy of one Daniela Ruah! In a new post on Instagram, the actress behind Kensi gives you a sense of her working with a double while down in Hollywood — not the easiest place to film in the world. Just remember this — it’s one of the biggest tourist destinations in the city and there are always a ton of people there. If we had to guess, we would imagine that the cast probably does most of their filming there first thing in the morning to avoid some of the crowds. You’re still going to get people regardless, though — especially once some of these said people also realize that there is a production going doing.
This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen NCIS: LA film in Hollywood but, in the end, it’s always welcome. We think it matters significantly in order to film scenes in places that are recognizable all over the world. They give you that extra pop and familiarity to viewers all across the country. As for what Kensi is doing down there, we’ll have to wait until this fall to find out! (Yes, it’s unavoidable that she’s taking on bad guys, but we like to think there’s still some mystery there…)
