Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 12 video: Meet Rabbi Kessner
In the video below, you can take a look at the opening minutes to this upcoming episode, one that puts the Rabbi in the spotlight. What we know at the moment about Rabbi Jacob Kessner is very clear — he spends his days living within a synagogue, seemingly isolated from most of the outside world. He has much of the establishment protected with fencing, and seems to also have a weapon on standby for situations where he needs it. While he may be a man of faith, at the same time he’s not afraid to kill people if the situation comes to it.
Within this episode, we’re also going to see him make a new friend: Charlie. The Rabbi meets her at the end of the preview, and this could be a jumping-off point to whatever happens through the remainder of the episode.

We, of course, have so many questions about Rabbi Kessner within the scope of this preview, including first and foremost what caused him to be so isolated? While it makes sense that he would stand by his synagogue, what about those who visited before? What about his friends and family? Aside from these questions, this episode could also represent a simple opportunity to get to know more about the role of faith within the universe of The Walking Dead. Given that this is a world where there is such a constant presence of death and destruction, it makes sense that it would be hard to find something that comes close to hope or religion.
Just in case you’re looking at Rabbi Kessner with a reaction of “hey, I know that guy,” the actor is Peter Jacobson and he’s a pretty prolific television actor. He was recently a part of NCIS: Los Angeles as Special Prosecutor Rogers; he has also appeared on a number of other shows including House, Colony, and Ray Donovan. We’ll see how long he sticks around here — while Fear the Walking Dead already does have a number of characters, we do think that there will always be a need for more interesting ones.
