SWAT season 3 premiere spoilers: The struggles ahead for Hondo

The SWAT season 3 premiere will be coming onto CBS on Wednesday, October 2, and will be bringing along with it all sorts of drama. Even though it may be airing in a new timeslot, you’re still going to see much of the same sort of show that you’ve come to see before.

Of course, there are also a few potential changes that you’re going to see for the show, as well. Take, for example, the arrival of amy Farrington as Piper Lynch. Meanwhile, you’ll also see the return of Hondo’s father, who is coming back to the show under some rather challenging circumstances.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the full SWAT season 3 premiere synopsis with a little more news as to what’s coming up next:

“Fire in the Sky” – The SWAT team works with Lieutenant Piper Lynch (Amy Farrington), a senior LAPD Hollywood Division officer, when the mayor assigns her to oversee city departments joining forces to stop a serial bomber using drones as detonation devices. Also, just as Hondo settles into legal guardianship of his teen charge, Darryl (Deshae Frost), his home life becomes more complicated when his estranged father (Obba Babatundé) unexpectedly moves in, on the third season premiere of S.W.A.T., Wednesday, Oct. 2 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

As we press onward with SWAT, we think that one of the central struggles will be trying to find a way to balance out what we’re getting in the field with also some of the characters’ personal lives. They’ve found a way to do this the first two times around, so we’re confident that the tradition will hold here. There’s going to be a lot of action, but what grounds a lot of the action is some of what happens back home for some of these characters. The further that we go into season 3, the more that some of these struggles could start to be apparent.

So when could we see some more video footage from the third season? We are hoping that there will be some more good stuff coming in the weeks ahead.
