Big Brother 21 live feed spoilers: Veto Ceremony results (day 69)
While we know that there was a heavy push by Nick to shake up the game (he and Christie were nominated), Holly and Jackson didn’t want to do it. When he realized that the Veto wasn’t going to be used on him, his plan instead was to convince Jackson to use it on Christie. From there, he could go ahead and use his America’s Prankster power to nominate someone else and fight to get that person out. It was a desperate plan and he sold it as such, and there was never any tangible reason for Jackson and Holly to want to go through with it.

Nick was clued in before the Veto Ceremony happened that Jackson wasn’t using his Veto. He claimed that if it was weeks ago, he’d be inclined to do so; yet, we’re close to the end of the game. Given that Christie and Nick are both huge threats, it makes sense for one of the two of them to go out of the game this time around. Nick tried to claim that he’d had Jackson’s back in the past and cited examples, but that didn’t help him in this instance. The Power of Veto was not used.
Jackson did tell Nick that if he finds a way to stick around this week without his power being used, that’s something he is fine with — he just didn’t want to create a position where something was premeditated. That makes some sense — if someone new was put on the block alongside Nick and Christie was saved, that means Holly/Jackson would have two people coming after them next. However, with the current nominations, only one person is for sure safe is coming back to bite them.
