This morning, Dancing with the Stars season 28 decided that it didn’t want to wait until Wednesday to confirm Hannah Brown as a contestant.
In a post on Instagram, The Bachelorette confirmed that Brown will be a part of the upcoming season of the ABC reality show when it premieres next month. That’s something that has been long rumored, especially with the famed “Alabama Hannah” spending a lot more time in Los Angeles — where rehearsals for the show take place. They also hinted at Hannah “joining” Bachelor in Paradise tonight, but that’s all just false hype. She will be in Paradise, but she’s not staying in Paradise — remember that at the time the show filmed earlier this year, the situation surrounding Hannah relationship-wise was a little bit different.

In joining Dancing with the Stars, Hannah becomes the first leading lady to get the role since Trista all the way back at the start of the series. (Melissa Rycroft is a two-time Dancing with the Stars contestant, but she was never a lead for any individual season.) There’s been controversy for a long time about whether or not Bachelorette creator Mike Fleiss was limiting the number of women who could get the gig — that was speculation thrown out there by former lead Kaitlyn Bristowe, who wanted to have an opportunity to compete on the show.
As for how well Hannah Beast is going to fare in the ballroom, that’s a total toss-up — she’s goofy enough to be game for anything the competition throws at her, but that doesn’t mean that she will actually do well. She’s going to have to figure out how to navigate a wide array of routines — and a part of the onus here will be on her still-mysterious partner to help.
