Is Grantchester new tonight on PBS? A look towards the future

Is Grantchester new tonight on PBS? At the moment, we would understand and then some the desire to have more of this great story. That’s even more so the case when you consider how short season 4 felt. Because this is a British series, there is a tendency for there to always be short seasons. The season probably felt even shorter due to the changing of the guard that happened midway through. James Norton is gone, and Tom Brittney is now on board. Because we had such a short period of time with the latter, it may feel almost like we didn’t even get to know him all that well!

Unfortunately, there aren’t going to be too many opportunities to do this within the immediate future either, as there is no new episode of Grantchester on the air tonight. You will get a chance to see some more good stuff with season 5 coming your way before too long, but it won’t conceivably be until you get around to the new year. We know that filming is underway at present, and this at least gives us a small bit of something to be excited about.

The first point of excitement for season 5 is getting to have a full batch of episodes (hopefully) featuring the Will character, who so many of us are eager to get to know further. We want to get a larger understanding of what makes him tick and some of the various ins and outs that exist his life. While he may be a vicar, are there other passions that we don’t know about just yet? What makes him tick? These are elements that we hope Grantchester season 5 will want to explore in earnest.

Expect to see more information regarding the future of Grantchester in America next spring; for those of you who are reading this story in the UK, you are perhaps a bit luckier. It’s likely that we will start to get a little bit more information on the fifth season early on in the new year.
