‘Dexter’ season 7 spoilers: Are the writers already preparing for the end?

Even though we still have a solid nine episodes still to watch for “Dexter” this season, the show’s writers may already be taking a look at what is going to be coming up later on this show; specifically, they are looking forward to what could be the final curtain call for Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, and the rest of the cast already.

Just in case you have not heard already, the show is set currently to end after the eighth season, which means that just about everything that we see this time around is going to be carrying over at least to some extent to what is coming up next. After all, there are only so many episodes left, so just about every story we see is something that is going to be important.

Just in case we need to illuminate this point further, show site Dexter Daily is reporting that the writing staff is already moving forward and starting up some work on what will be the final season of “Dexter.” There are rumors at the moment that this will be a 16-episode season in comparison to the previous ones of only 12, but that has not been confirmed by any stretch of the imagination outside of the sole fact that the show is starting up production a little bit earlier than usual. We wouldn’t mind having a little bit more “Dexter” than usual, even if it means producers are likely to break it up into two eight-episode blocks.

What do you want to see happy over the final two seasons of the show?
