This Is Us season 4 spoilers: Are ‘secret’ new cast members coming?

Want to know what’s coming up on This Is Us season 4? We knew that there would be secrets … but we didn’t know it would be on this level. As it turns out, there are going to be a lot of new people you’ll be meeting, and we’re stuck at the moment waiting for some sort of information to come out.

Speaking on this subject via Deadline, executive producer Dan Fogelman discussed this very subject, and then also how the opening episodes of the season are going to take some of the largest swings that we’ve seen to date:

“I would say that there’s a lot of secret new cast members who are going to be a big deal, coming up, so that’s one part. I would say there’s going to be a big announcement or release about it at the end of this month … I would say that in the series, we have what I call little markers, little stakes we put in the ground that serve as grounding points for the whole arc of the whole series, and I would say our first two episodes of this season are two of those. So, it’s a big, bold, potentially polarizing—but in the best possible way—start to the season.”

So who could some of these new characters be? We know that one of these people is going to be played by Jennifer Morrison, and she could be a candidate to play the mother of Kevin’s son. Yet, there are a lot of candidates out there when it comes to that character and she could be a red herring — if she is even tied to the Kevin character at all. Some other characters could be a part of flash-forward timelines, they could be new Pearson relatives, or they could offer a sense as to what’s happening with some of these characters professionally.

The good news is that you won’t have to wait too long for answers, as This Is Us season 4 is going to premiere this fall over on NBC.
