Following her debut as Officer Witten last year on Blue Bloods, we have some good news — she’ll be back for more leading into season 11!
In a new post on Twitter (which CarterMatt has or you to see below), Lauren Pattern confirms that she is suiting back up in uniform as Eddie’s partner, who is the second partner Vanessa Ray’s character has had since Jamie was promoted to Sergeant and switched precincts. A part of what makes the Witten/Janko partnership so dynamic is that they’re different from the mix. There aren’t too many two-female partnerships within the NYPD, for starters, and there haven’t been all that many within the show. They carry with them a unique perspective and also a tenacious spirit.
We know that Witten and Eddie do have a good relationship, largely because she’s one of the few notable non-Reagans who was present at the wedding at the end of last season. (Her presence was something that Vanessa Ray asked for.) This means that at least someone at the precinct knows that Jamie and Eddie are together and that is something that could be explored so much more throughout the upcoming season.

So what Patten’s return means is that we’re going to be seeing her and Ray working together on some cases which is what we know and love so much about the show. We imagine that the writers will give us some indications that Eddie’s life is different after the wedding — yet, everything is still framed around work for this show. That’s where some of the focus is still understandably going to lie with the personal plotlines framed all around that.
Blue Bloods season 10 is going to premiere on CBS this fall. If you do want to score some other news all about it, remember to visit the link here now. It will be kicking off this season with the 200th episode — a milestone following another one in the wedding.
