Chicago Fire season 8 spoilers: Shadowhunters’ Alberto Rosende signs on
According to a new report from Deadline, Alberto Rosende of Shadowhunters fame is going to be signing up for season 8 of the NBC series Chicago Fire, where he will be playing the recurring role of Blake Gallo. He’s described as a “a young firefighter who loves his job, joins Firehouse 51 as the CFD expands the number of firefighters on second shift. Casey (Jesse Spencer), Herrmann (David Eigenberg), and Severide (Taylor Kinney) — impressed with Gallo’s relentless energy — take him under their wings.”
What this booking does is it gives Chicago Fire another face to work its way into their ensemble, and it also mirrors to a certain extent how a lot of this works in the real world. Think about it for a minute — there is a turnover rate in firehouses. Some get transferred out, some undergo a career change over time, and others eventually retire. There are a ton of different ways in which firefighters’ career can ebb and flow and they work with a lot of people along the way.

Rosende joins Chicago Fire after playing Simon Lewis on Shadowhunters for the entirety of it’s run. He comes on board this series with an enthusiastic following and could bring new viewers to what was already one of the most stable hits that NBC has on their roster. Chicago Fire viewers love the series’ sense of family and support that one firefighter offers others within his firehouse. Rosende joining also means that he could eventually score some credits on one of the other shows within the greater One Chicago world — think along the lines of Chicago PD and then also Chicago Med.
