Siren season 3 premiere date coming in spring 2020 (video)
So when in the new year is that going to happen? Think along the lines of the spring. That is what was confirmed by the show in a new post on its official Twitter account following the season 2 finale. In a way, the later premiere date comes as a little bit of a surprise given that season 2 premiered in the winter. So why is that happening? It may have a thing or two to do with the fact that this show takes a pretty long time to put together — especially compared to some other Freeform series.
Why is that? Think about — the water sequences and all of the effects take a good bit of time! Despite what Siren as a series may try to convince you, Eline Powell is not actually a real mermaid. They have to find a way to add some of that in after the fact. Filming will take place for much of the rest of the year, and the cast and crew can spend the next little while preparing for whatever comes next.
Odds are, though, it’s going to take a good bit of time before we get too much information when it comes to Siren season 3 — including possible new characters and threats. At the start of the season 2 finale, we thought that we had a pretty good idea of where the story was going. Then, everything turned on a dime with the whole “it was just a dream” reveal at the end of the episode. We’re now moving into a position where there are a lot of mysteries out there for what is coming up and rest assured, we’re curious as to what twists and turns could come our way moving forward.
With the spring premiere in mind, it could be early 2020/late 2019 until we find out the truth about the premiere date. There’s no hurry for Freeform to rush to making an announcement.
