Supernatural season 15: No more spin-off discussions happening
While at the TCA Summer Press Tour, The CW executive Mark Pedowitz made it clear that there are no current plans to try to spin the show off after both Supernatural: Bloodlines and Wayward Sisters failed to make it to series. We thought there was a lot of potential in the latter given the characters involved, but The CW went with Legacies instead prior to last season. Bloodlines, however, felt like a dud on arrival after watching the backdoor pilot.
Speaking via Deadline, Pedowitz gave a statement on the status of future spin-offs that is a somewhat familiar refrain to what we’ve heard as of late:
“I’ve been involved in two spinoffs that did not connect. We’ve had no further discussions whatsoever in terms of a Supernatural spinoff. I tend to believe that, at this point, the show’s essence is Jared and Jensen.”

Pedowitz also noted that it was a conversation with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles that led to this being the final season. These two actors wanted to leave the show with it still relevant and with their heads held high, and also both have young families who we’re sure they want to spend more time with.
We still think that down the line, there is a possibility that Supernatural could come back. This could easily work like Psych, where you come back and do a movie every few years. We don’t think anyone should be thinking that way entering the final season (you want the series finale to mean something), but we’d be crazy to think that there wouldn’t be discussions about something more for this show weeks or months down the road.
