Ray Donovan season 7 premiere date, details revealed by Showtime

What lies ahead on Ray Donovan season 7? For starters, you’re going to see Ray work to actually do something that he hasn’t done before: Seek redemption. Be a better man. The question is just whether or not such a thing is possible.

Per a new release from Showtime, the new season is going to kick off at Sunday, November 17 at a surprisingly-early timeslot in 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Showtime doesn’t tend to program new episodes of their shows before 9:00, but they are building a super-lineup this November of this show alongside Shameless and then also Kidding season 2. In getting back to Ray Donovan in particular, don’t interpret a redemption-based storyline as Ray spending all of the season meditating and trying to find the right essential oils in order to give himself a relaxing bath. There’s a little more going on here and it’s still going to feel relatively similar to the same Ray you’ve seen on the show before.

Season seven of RAY DONOVAN finds Ray (Liev Schreiber in his three-time Emmy nominated and five-time Golden Globe nominated role) working to be the man his family needs him to be. While he makes progress with Dr. Amiot (five-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner Alan Alda), there are dangers from the past that require the Ray Donovan of old.

Let’s hope that this synopsis is an indicator that we’ll be seeing a lot of Alda throughout this upcoming season. Any chance that you can get an actor of that caliber and with his reputation on the screen, we think you need to run to it. He can make this season incredibly strong, layered, and fascinating. Also, he can try to make Ray a better person rather than just the fixer who can fix every life but his own.
