The Bachelorette finale: Will Jed Wyatt address girlfriend drama?
Regardless of whether or not we see this proposal, there’s stuff a question worth asking: How is Jed’s ex Haley going to factor into the finale? You have to believe that she will, given that she has become such an important component to this story at this point. The reports are out there: Jed had a girlfriend before going on the show and according to her, he didn’t break up with her before going to the mansion. There’s a lot of evidence out there supporting her claim, but there is still one part of this we have to hear — Jed’s story.

In a new edition of The Ringer’s Bachelor Party podcast this week, guest host Lauren Zima spoke with Chris Harrison and he confirmed that he would spend some time questioning Jed and getting to the bottom of the truth with Haley. He would allow him to tell his story, but also call him out on any inconsistencies. Harrison’s goal for the finale is to be fair to the guys, but also not allow them to push their narrative unchecked.
For those wondering, Harrison also noted in the interview that he would give Peter Weber a chance to have his own voice heard. There are allegations out there that the pilot also had a girlfriend prior to the show, but that he broke up with her during the casting process. (Harrison noted that the two situations with Jed and Peter are very different, and that he has more information on Peter’s casting process that makes his story a little bit clearer. Some of that may be addressed over the next few days.)
