Better Call Saul season 5 filming: Los Pollos Hermanos surfaces

Better Call Saul season 4

Better Call Saul season 5 isn’t going to be premiering until we get around to 2020, but the AMC series remains hard at work. That also includes making sure that the show remains as authentic to the overall Gus Fring experience as possible.

Over the past few days, photos have been popping up online of a Los Pollos Hermanos location — note that it’s not an actual store, but the production crew is doing what they can to set things up for the sake of the show. They know how important this is to Gus’ backstory as his business front and this is all of the validation that you probably needed that Giancarlo Esposito has a major role to play.

In all honesty, it would be weird not having a season of Better Call Saul at this point without Los Pollos Hermanos. That’s why we don’t see the chicken establishment’s presence as some sort of gigantic spoiler. Given how entrenched Mike Ehrmantraut is now in Gus’ operation, odds are we’ll be seeing more of it in the upcoming batch of episodes. Do we think that there will be a lot of earthshattering events that happen there? That’s debatable, but it is just a natural part of the DNA of this show and it serves as a good Easter egg to all Breaking Bad fans. It does also serve as a nice source of comedy — these shows are not always known for their laughs. There are SO many funny moments that could come around here.

Better Call Saul season 5 is going to pick things up following Jimmy’s decision to become Saul Goodman; in the episodes that come, we’ll see him start to become even closer to Mike. We’re moving towards the criminal lawyer we saw in Breaking Bad — everything is going to be about pushing us closer to that period of time.

What do you most want to see on Better Call Saul season 5?
