Why Better Call Saul season 5 needs January 2020 premiere date

Better Call Saul season 4

Better Call Saul season 5 isn’t going to be on the air for a long time — that much is clear. The AMC series is currently in the process of filming in the greater Albuquerque area and we have no doubt that they are compiling some great footage. They’re just not going to be giving us a chance to be seeing it anytime soon.

Already, the network has confirmed that the incredibly successful (and also incredibly awesome) show will not be airing in 2019. With that, the inevitable question becomes where things go from here. When will we have a chance to see these episodes on the air?

There’s no reason to beat around the bush when it comes to stating our preference — we want to see Better Call Saul premiere on AMC in January 2020 and there are an abundance of reasons why.

For starters, let’s think in terms of what’s happening that time of the year — not a whole lot. January is a time when a lot of shows flourish, mostly because it’s so cold outside and there is not a whole lot of other stuff going on. If there was a moment for Better Call Saul to have a few seconds of limelight and slightly better ratings, this is it. (We know that the show doesn’t need great ratings to stick around, but it never quite hurts.)

Beyond that, getting the show on the air in January makes the wait feel a little bit less agonizing. Just remember that we’ll have been waiting for well over a year between seasons already at that point and there is no reason to push that out even further.

Finally, just consider this — you’ll have a great time to market the new season before you get around to February sweeps. You don’t want to be premiering it at the same time as awards shows and a billion other things. Give it a platform to get things going beforehand.
