Agents of SHIELD season 7 hype intensifies (already)

Even though Agents of SHIELD season 7 isn’t going to be on the air, presumably, until next year, that’s not stopping some of the early hype out there. All signs point to one of the craziest seasons yet, and one that will have a dramatic carryover from what happened at the end of season 6.

Speaking (per Hypable), executive producer Jed Whedon put things in a very specific way in talking about what’s coming leading into next season, noting that this summer’s finale will not have a satisfying ending. Instead, it’s meant to carry over directly into what’s next. Someone must have tipped off the writers in advance of their renewal that they were getting one since otherwise, it’s a really gusty move to give a show that is so perennially on the bubble a cliffhanger ending this big.

Then, go ahead and add to this the following message from Jeff Ward to the aforementioned site:

“I have to say season 7 is going to be extremely fun … It’s incredible. I really love season six but seven is my favorite since I’ve been here, for sure.”

The more that we hear about Agents of SHIELD season 7, the more excited that we get about what’s coming. Maybe htere is a certain fearlessness that goes along with not knowing whether that is the final season or not. (If there is someone who knows, it hasn’t been said yet publicly.) Maybe there will be something said prior to it premieres, but we love the idea of the writers coming up with something that is truly crazy and works as a top-notch tribute to everything that we’ve seen so far on the show.

We also love the idea that so many cast members are speaking about it openly, as that almost makes us feel like they’re going to survive until that point. (We do still recognize fully that this is Agents of SHIELD, otherwise known as a show where people do get killed off, and actors could be told to plant a little bit of trickery.)
