The Bachelorette: Jed Wyatt says family impacted over Hannah B drama

Jed Wyatt

For the first time since some of the drama was exposed about The Bachelorette star Jed Wyatt and his controversial past, Jed himself has spoken out. Or, he’s spoken out in a way that he can.

What Jed can’t do at the moment is address publicly either his relationship with Hannah Brown or with his ex Haley, who he supposedly was with prior to going on the show. The tabloid stories are all over the place now, with some claiming that he went on the show thinking that he would come back and resume his relationship with Haley — just with more fans. Regardless of whether or not you buy into some of the stories out there (there is a ton of evidence of Jed and Haley’s past relationship), what’s happening to his family is a different story.

In a post on Instagram, Jed asked for “patience and kindness” from people online and in real life, claiming that his family has been “verbally attacked” by people since the stories first came out. While Jed may have brought all of this on himself and with fame comes exposure and negativity, his family was dragged into this through no real consequence. We don’t know what good going after them does … but it doesn’t change the fact that Jed put himself in a position to be criticized.

For those who are wondering why Jed isn’t talking more in-depth, he’s not allowed to contractually. The Bachelorette reserves the right to be able to tell his story later on this season. A time will come when he is able to talk and we’ll wait and see what happens then.

Hi y’all. Several of you have reached out with messages and questions. Please know I’m not able to answer right now, but as soon as I’m able to, I will. •Until then, I ask that you please understand how much the actions being taken towards myself, my family, the men on the show, and above all, Hannah, are affecting all of our mental and physical health. •It goes beyond what is said online. Threatening letters and phone calls have been sent to our homes. My parents and sister are being verbally attacked in public. I beg you to remember what seems like a harmless action is damaging to real people. •I want to thank all of you who have reached out or reserved judgement until I am able to speak openly and I can only ask for your patience and kindness until then.
