Suits season 9 episode 1 spoilers: To keep a name ON the wall…
Yet, within this first episode (airing July 17) entitled “Everything’s Changed,” the focus seemed to be more about keeping a name on the wall. The title’s kinda ironic in that way — there may be a new paradigm, but there are characters who are still doing what they can to find a semblance of stability. The name is now the identity, and with people like Samantha Wheeler present, she doesn’t want Robert Zane stripped of his accomplishments. Losing his name after all he went through and the sacrifice he took on just doesn’t seem fair.
The Suits season 9 episode 1 synopsis below gives you a good sense of who is at the center of this fight:
Harvey and Samantha fight to keep Zane’s name on the wall; Alex warns Louis of the consequences.

What are the consequences of keeping Harvey’s name on the wall? It’s mostly a matter of reputation and judging how certain characters are perceived. If the reputation of Robert Zane ends up leading to the reputation of the firm crumbling, they really should consider the name’s removal. We also have a feeling that Robert would understand. If there is one thing that we’ve learned about this character over time, it is this — he likes to win. As a matter of fact, he did everything in his power to win.
Throughout the rest of the season, we’ll see how the firm manages to cement its legacy — and also what we’re going to see from some other characters personally. We’ve spoken a lot about Harvey and Donna’s relationship and about the return of Patrick J. Adams as Mike Ross but spoiler alert — we’re going to be doing that a lot still. This is a show where the personal and profession merge like almost no other.
