Suits season 9 photo: Patrick J. Adams is back on set as Mike!
In a new post on Instagram (which CarterMatt has for you to check out below), series star Sarah Rafferty confirmed that the one-time series regular is back on set as Mike Ross! We first heard this good news a little bit earlier this spring — as a matter of fact, we even recorded a video all about it! As for what we know at the moment about Mike’s return to Suits, we know that it’s going to be messy — but in an entertaining way. He’s not coming back just to be BFFs with Harvey; there could be some conflict, mostly because of what’s going on in terms of a case. Harvey and Mike may be forced to do a little battle — it won’t be the first time that they’ve disagreed, but in the past (save for when Mike was at the clinic) they were on the same team. This could be different, but there may still be an opportunity to see this dynamic duo back doing what they love before all of it is over.
There are reports already that Adams could be coming back for the series finale of Suits when that films later this year, but nothing is 100% confirmed as of yet. For the time being, let’s just assume that everyone involved knows that without Mike Ross, Suits wouldn’t be the show that it is. While he’s never going to be the focal point in the way he once was again, there will still be opportunities to see his smile, go back-and-forth with Harvey, and then also have some great moments with Louis Litt and Donna.
As for Rachel … let’s just go ahead and assume she’ll be mentioned. It feels stupid at this point to really root for anything else. Nonetheless, we’re sure that there are tabloids (mostly out of Great Britain) that will be spending weeks writing headlines that magical offers has been made to get her back on the show. That’s just a nature of this particular beast when you’ve got a Royal Family member involved.
