Scream: Resurrection episode 3 preview: The true nature of Lakewood

Scream

What’s coming up on Scream: Resurrection episode 3 tomorrow? We should begin here by noting that tonight’s premiere, in so many ways, is about setting a foundation. It’s painting the picture for the world that you are going to see next.

Lakewood feels on the surface like so many other small towns that you see within a show like this. It’s one that feels somewhat peaceful on the surface but underneath, you discover some demons that are dark and quite disturbing. There are parts of this place nobody knows about and at first, it seems like they’re going to stay buried. Yet, a video on YouTube changes that. It is the first domino of many to fall in what is going to be a chaotic sequence that leads to more possible deaths and a secret that could blow lives wide open. Ghostface is freaky, but after watching Scream movies plus the first two seasons of this show (back when it aired on MTV), you should know that it is about so much more than the mask. There’s a psychology that goes into someone wearing it and a lot of times, it’s abuse, pain, or an entire town turning their back on you. It’s not like a switch flipping where all of a sudden, someone is now making a decision to be evil. The world is a little more complicated than that.

For some more news, be sure to check out the Scream: Resurrection episode 3 synopsis below:

What starts as a YouTube video going viral, soon leads to problems for the teenagers of Lakewood and serves as the catalyst for a murder that opens up a window to the town’s troubled past.

Remember that the pace of this show is going to move pretty fast — it has to. The final two episodes are airing on Wednesday and we’re moving from one part of the story into the next and then the next. If the pace of the show were to slow down, it wouldn’t have anywhere near the same style, feel, or chills. It’s also one of the reasons why this show was designed to be so separate from the first two seasons; most of those characters had already seen fear. The stakes were different and ratching the tension up would’ve been more of a challenge in so short a period of time.
