Beecham House episode 5 preview: The aftermath of the secret
At the end of episode 4, John finally revealed the truth about his past, including that his son August is the air to one day become a powerful ruler. Yet, in order for that to happen, his very existence has to be kept secret for his own safety. There are those who choose to hunt him down and those who want to ensure that there is no way in which he can ever rule. Chandrika’s visits offer up a small touch of home, and the reason she shows up in the middle of the night is to remain undetected.
Now, there’s another important question: Will everyone keep the secret? Given how important it is, we do think that Henrietta isn’t so interested in disclosing it — she now seems inclined to actually celebrate the grandson in a way that she never did before. Margaret was sympathetic to John after his big reveal and will likely keep the news to herself.
If there is a large question mark at the moment, it hovers around the character of Violet. Is she someone who could ruin everything? We’re concerned given that she has her eyes set on being with John down the road … but what happens in the event that she’s unable to? What her hopes of having a relationship with him don’t materialize into anything? If she gets angry enough, maybe she tries to do something almost out of revenge. It’s not an easy that we especially love, but it’s something that John should be thinking about.
Aside from the mystery, there is also no guarantee that Margaret chooses to stick around in India. She wanted to head home earlier this season and even in spite of the secret coming out, she could still opt to do so. This is something else to watch out for entering episode 4, as is the status of Chanchal after Daniel made the decision to leave, largely because he felt he had no other choice than to re-join the military.
