Is Yellowstone new tonight on Paramount Network?

Is Yellowstone new tonight on Paramount Network? Given that we’re only TWO episodes into the new season, you would think that there is a certain desire to keep that train rolling.

Alas, there is a force that Yellowstone wants no part of, and it’s a little something known as the July 4th holiday. Paramount Network is giving the show a break because of it until July 10, which is when the third episode of the season is going to air. Consider this a chance to re-watch the first two episodes and get prepared for what’s coming — emotions are going to be running high.

At the start of episode 3, our hope is to see where things stand in particular for Kayce. This is a guy who feels somewhat lost between worlds at the moment — it’s not 100% clear if he is going to ever fit in with the ranchers, just as it’s not clear if he’s ever going to have a chance again with Monica. He doesn’t know where he belongs and his presence is causing issues with Beth and Rip both. This is something that will need to be sorted out, alongside whatever Beth is going to do to keep some of the vultures at bay from desecrating the ranch and taking whatever they want from it. Whether it be land developers or just your everyday greedy people, there are always going to be threats roaming about this part of the country. She’s been able to remain one step ahead but there are some big ones coming — take Neal McDonough’s character, who has a big arc in the story coming up.

As for Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, the hope there is to see him find his way back on the up and up after his recent health scare. There was an element of humor to him having to go to pool rehab to start to get better, but maybe this does allow him a better sense of his own mortality. The time will come when he is forced to ponder this over and imagine what he wants the ranch to look like long after he’s gone. This thinking could impact Kayce, but the same goes for all of the bunkhouse folks and characters we don’t know all that well at all.

It’s going to be a crazy ride coming up — let’s just hope that it’s worth the wait…

If you missed it…
