‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Josh Radnor on ‘who is the mother?’

So does the man behind Ted on “How I Met Your Mother” know the answer to the show’s central question just yet? Based on some of the comments that Josh Radnor is making at this very moment, it does not really seem like it. Speaking as a part of a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor admitted that he actually does not know anything about the way in which the show is going to end, and while this is something that many actors would probably be frustrated with, he actually relishes it:

“It’s kind of better for me not to know. It serves me to be a little more naïve and just play that truthfully.”

Radnor also said that he really is hoping that producers do not just go the route of casting an A-lister of the character, mostly because he would much rather have it be someone who is not recognizable to anyone, which would give the moment the same sort of feel as it would if we were looking at it through Ted’s eyes:

“I don’t think it should be any sort of stunt casting … I think it would be more interesting to have this fresh, exciting face that Ted has never seen before and neither have people who watch the show.”

In moving away from the issue of the Mother for a moment, we should also add in here that at the time of the interview, Radnor and the cast were still unsure as to whether or not this will be the show’s final season. Even though the producers are planning this year as the grand send-off for the show, they are still early enough along to change course in the event that one more year of episodes is picked up.

Who do you think should play the Mother?
