Grand Hotel episode 4 preview: Prepare for ‘The Big Sickout’

Grand Hotel episode 4 is coming onto ABC next week and by the time it airs, you should know a thing or two about what to expect. This is a series that is designed to deliver almost exactly what you would expect. Think in terms of juicy twists, hookups, shouting matches, lavish locations, and all sorts of drama. It doesn’t need to drift far from what you would expect to achieve most of its goals.

So what’s at the center of all of this said drama? What happened to Sky — it’s the sort of thing that could be at the center of most of the season and lead us to some of the most epic jaw-droppers yet. We don’t envision the writers being in much of a hurry to ties these loose ends together when there’s still so much more to explore. There are some other threads that haven’t even been introduced yet!

Danny and Jason dive deeper into the mystery of Sky’s disappearance, an old friend of Gigi’s checks into the hotel causing Santiago to feel uneasy and Javi is put to work.

For the Gigi storyline, what we wonder is this: How much pressure does this put on her to create the ideal experience for them? This could bleed over into other members of the staff, causing an environment that could boil over at almost any given moment. We know that Grand Hotel has its mysteries and its long-term story arcs, but we hope that along the way it doesn’t forget about the operational side of running a hotel. That means dealing with a lot of crummy customers at times and people who want nothing more than to be a real jerk to you at almost any opportunity. Fawlty Towers remains the gold standard for all hotel-related entertainment … though we also get that by no means is this trying to be the same sort of show. This isn’t so much about getting a laugh as it is getting you immersed into the characters’ stories, hopefully so much that you wanna watch it live.
