After NCIS: Los Angeles crossover, JAG’s profile rises once again
Now, the folks over at WGN America are doing whatever they can to help you go back in time so that you can watch some old episodes of the show again. While we know that the series has been airing elsewhere on smaller stations, this is one of its larger carriers in some time. On July 4, WGN America is plotting a JAG of July marathon that will feature episodes airing starting at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time along with 9:00 a.m. Eastern the following day. What this means is a chance for new viewers to discover the show, and maybe for viewers who already know it to reminisce a little. In the days that follow the marathon, WGN America is planning to air episodes daily during the week starting at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. It’s a big rollout to what was an iconic show in its era.
So are there some larger ramifications of this? Sure, mostly in the form that it could somehow lead to discussions of more JAG in general. We know that earlier this year, there were reports of CBS quietly considering a revival in some form … though nothing was 100% confirmed at that point in time. We’re now left to wonder if that could end up turning into something — if these repeats perform well and if viewers respond to (hopefully) seeing a little more of Mac and Harm on NCIS: Los Angeles season 11, it could kick off something more. There’s a market still for this show — we firmly believe that — and this could be yet another step on the long staircase to get the show back.

For now, though, they’re just syndicated repeats … but maybe it gives us something more to think about in between now and when NCIS: Los Angeles returns with new episodes come this fall.
