Power season 6, and the series, officially wrap filming

Power

It’s been an incredible, emotional, and certainly twist-filled journey, but Power season 6 seems to be said and done. With that in mind, the same goes for the series itself.

In a beautifully written post on Instagram, series star Omari Hardwick tributed the show that has been a part of his life for the past several years. He talks about the cast, the crew, and the experience working together in New York City — and ultimately, this is a chance to reflect on just how quickly the time is gone. This is the way of things in life. While you work on something, it may feel like certain days are a slog or that components of them are dragging on like nobody’s business. However, on the other side of all that hard work, it really just feels like a minute. It almost makes you wonder if there’s something more you could have done to cherish the time when you had it. This was a special part of everyone’s life. It’s something that they’ll remember for many years to come, being a part of a series so special that it shattered ratings records for Starz and brought more attention to the network and their careers than ever.

Of course, there is a good bit of work still to do on Power season 6. It’s just that none of it involves filming. Over the next several months, episodes will be edited together and scored, there could be more ADR work using some of the cast, and of course, there’s a big promotional campaign coming. The final season of Power premieres in August and it is going to be a 15-episode run that slowly builds and builds until we get to whatever the desired conclusion is. It’s going to be sad to say goodbye, but it doesn’t necessarily mean goodbye to the entire world of the show as we know it. We know that there are potential spin-off shows for Power in development but it’s too early to tell whether or not any of those will actually get off the ground.

The most important thing, as the pages turn from one day to the next, is really recognizing the greatness of the flagship show and everything it brought to the table. Think in terms of magnificent performances, a dark and gritty story, and ultimately a modern-day Shakespearean tragedy of a man who fought so much to have everything, but on the other side of it, ended up with almost nothing.
