Blood & Treasure episode 7 preview: ‘Escape from Casablanca’

From the very onset, Blood & Treasure has been a show thriving on the basis of adventure. Think along the lines of fantastic locales, excellent action sequences, and the occasional lighthearted moment that leaves a smile on your face. Heck, even the title for the next new episode screams fun — “Escape from Casablanca.” How can you hear that and not be excited? We’re talking about a place that is always going to have some sort of romance and intrigue associated with it. Even though Danny and Lexi aren’t exactly going to be dealing with the best circumstances within this episode, it’s still designed to entertain. They’re going to have to evade not only the local authorities, but also some other adversaries at the same time.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Blood & Treasure episode 7 synopsis with a little bit more information as to what is coming up:

“Escape from Casablanca” – Danny and Lexi must improvise in order to stay alive and out of jail when they’re stuck in Casablanca with both law enforcement and their enemies hot on their trail. Also, Hardwick’s personal investigation into the Brotherhood of Serapis lands him in a dangerous situation, on BLOOD & TREASURE, Tuesday, June 25 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Based on this our almost-immediate reaction is this episode actually has a little bit in common with MacGyver. Where else are you going to have an opportunity to see characters make something out of nothing? (If Blood & Treasure gets a season 2, we gotta admit that the idea of Danny and Lexi working with Angus MacGyver is incredibly appealing.)

The hardest thing for us to envision regarding this upcoming episode is actually something that extends beyond it. We’re thinking in terms of the following question — how do you even wrap this story up? At least there is a reasonable chunk of the story still to come after this episode ends, so we don’t have to live in a world without Blood & Treasure showing up on television for a little while still. If we could just get some early season 2 renewal news though, we would be thrilled! Summer is always better with a fun, adventure show to dive into and it’s been a while since we’ve had something like this on the map.

One last note

Hardwick’s in danger because of his investigation? Who would’ve saw that coming? Here’s your answer — everyone. Pretty much any person who ever starts to investigate some sort of dangerous organization eventually finds themselves with their life on the line. It’s a story consistency as old as some of the show’s namesake treasure.
