Agents of SHIELD season 6 episode 6 video: Fitz, Simmons’ challenge
For most of the season, we’ve been hoping to see these two characters together — yet, we certainly didn’t think that it would happen quite like this! Within this upcoming episode we’ll be seeing the two maybe have a happy moment or two, but remember this — Fitz has been ordered to construct a way to go back in time. He’s got a very particular mission that he’s going to have to take on and if he somehow fails at it, we’ve got a feeling that the blowback to it could be rather severe. As in, lives could be on the line.
What makes this all the more curious is what we’ve got in the promo, including getting a chance to see what appear to be flashbacks but then also a potential alternate reality. Are we getting something akin to the Framework? We did love that storyline back when we got it, but we also don’t necessarily think that this is water that the show really needs to tread on again. It’s okay to venture out into some other territory at this point!
No matter what happens, our desired endgame within this episode is the same — a chance to actually see Fitz and Simmons get a little bit closer to the rest of the SHIELD team. We want that full-on reunion with every character!

A look at the latest ratings
How is Agents of SHIELD currently faring? We understand that it does already have a season 7 renewal, but we do think that there’s some value in looking at some of the most-recent numbers. It gauges the show’s pop-culture clout and helps us to understand if there is any hope at all for a season 8. Nothing is 100% confirmed just yet, so we’re not getting our hopes up.
The bad news is that last night’s episode ended up generating just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. What gives there? We suppose that you could chalk it up, in some ways, to the show coming back from a short hiatus. Of course, this is also a Friday in the summer and we’re well aware that there are plenty of people on vacation this time of year. Hopefully, we’ll get a bounce-back for next week’s episode with all the hype that’s so clearly there for it!
