God Friended Me season 2 filming will be starting up soon!
Yet, signs point to production getting underway at some point in the very near future. The post below via the official writers’ room for the show more or less confirms that.
When season 2 kicks off, the God Squad is going to find themselves in a pretty unusual place. For most of the first season, Cara, Miles, and Rakesh spent a lot of time trying to help people tied to the mysterious God Account. In doing so, they were almost always together. Yet, for the second season we’re going to see Kara overseas in Paris for at least a short of time — she’ll be working in order to write a book about Simon Hayes’ latest endeavors with Pria and Henry Chase. It’s a great opportunity for her, but it’s an awkward existence for everyone else. It’s like the Beatles losing a band member!

Cara and Miles’ personal relationship is also going to be put to the test, as when she comes back, there’s a pretty good chance she’ll be a different person. Any time you spend months in a new place away from your friends and family, you develop new tendencies. You learn different things about yourself. It’s only inevitable there will be some bumps in the road.
Of course, then there’s also the added mystery of who the woman is who came up the Miles at the end of season one. She made it clear that she got her own friend suggestion from God, which suggests that there might be more than one person being targeted. It seems like, for now, the God Account powers are being used for good rather than evil, so let’s just cross our fingers and hope that it stays that way. It really all depends on the person getting the suggestions; they’ve got free will to follow this mystical, virtual entity.
There’s no official premiere date just yet from God Friended Me season 2, but more than likely, you’ll see it in late September or early October on CBS. The time slot is still the same — Sundays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
While you wait…
