Tony Awards 2019: Where to watch, live stream red carpet pre-show

Tony Awards 2017

The 2019 Tony Awards are right around the corner! They are airing tonight on CBS, and with this being Broadway’s biggest night, there will be pomp. There will be fashion, music, and probably some humorous and heartfelt moments. It’s the Tonys! There are few awards shows quite like it just because it’s so willing to bring you everything. Maybe you get a musical number one second and then a heartfelt speech the next.

For the sake of this article, the focus is more so on the show before the Tonys — think of it as the lead-in or the pre-party. we’re talking about the red carpet! We know that for fashion fans, these are just as important as the show itself. Yet, getting info on the red-carpet pre-show isn’t always as easy as the show itself. That’s what happens when there isn’t a whole lot made about advertising leading into the big event.

Want to know where to live stream the red carpet? – Look no further than the post below via the Tonys’ official account. Later today via Twitter, you can see the red-carpet pre-show as hosted by Denny Directo and Montego Glover starting at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time (2:00 p.m. Pacific). Because it’s on social media, there’s no cause for concern/fear that you will have to validate some cable subscription. It’s free and accessible for everyone! This will be a first look at some of the fashion of the night, but may also feature interviews with a number of the show’s biggest stars.

We’re insanely curious what sort of non-Broadway stars are going to be there … and also if there is going to be some sort of jaw-dropping fashion reveal that puts the Met Gala to shame.

What’s happening with the Tonys themselves?

The show itself starts at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and it is hosted by stage veteran and The Late Late Show host James Corden. The list of presenters is long and incredible — Sara Bareilles, Laura Benanti, Abigail Breslin, Danny Burstein, David Byrne, Vanessa Carlton, Kristin Chenoweth, Darren Criss, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Tina Fey, Sutton Foster, Josh Groban, Danai Gurira, Jake Gyllenhaal, Christopher Jackson, Samuel L. Jackson, Shirley Jones, Regina King, Jane Krakowski, Isabelle Stevenson Award recipient Judith Light, Laura Linney, Lucy Liu, Aasif Mandvi, Audra McDonald, Sienna Miller, Catherine O’Hara, Tony Nominee Kelli O’Hara, Karen Olivo, Ben Platt, Billy Porter, Anthony Ramos, Andrew Rannells, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Michael Shannon, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Marisa Tomei, Aaron Tveit, Samira Wiley and BeBe Winans.

As for the performances, be prepared to see the following shows represented: “Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations,” “Beetlejuice,” “The Cher Show,” “Choir Boy,” “Hadestown,” “Kiss Me, Kate,” “Oklahoma!,” “The Prom” and “Tootsie.”

All in all, this is going to be fun. What more needs to be said?
